Spooktober 2016 TBR

Hello Bookaholics! How've you been? So sorry I've been absent for awhile, I've been extremely busy with school and studying for midterms. Plus some of my relatives from out of state have come to stay with me, so I've been taking them around my local area for sight seeing and whatnot.



But now I'm finally back on here, and it's felt like forever since I've done a monthly TBR or Wrap-Up. But now that it's October, I'm endeavoring to get some things back on track. I'm a huge fan of anything that revolves around Halloween or the month of October, and even though I'm much older now, I still enjoy making my Halloween costumes and dressing up every year.


Also, before I get into my TBR for the month of October, if you want to keep tabs on what I'm reading you can follow me on Goodreads. I post on there quite often especially since I have a Goodreads reading goal this year. My bookclub over on IG has a Goodreads page as well, and we have a monthly read along every month. This month will be a spooky read, so it's not too late to join us for the October read along.






Book 1)
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

I mainly wanted to read this because the movie recently came out, which I've been dying to watch. (And I'm that kind of person that likes to read the books before watching the movie/tv series) Secondly, I wanted to read the novel because it's an adult suspense/mystery novel that has a lot of hype around it, and, to be honest, I've never really read an "adult mystery novel".

I actually already finished this novel as my first Spooktober book of the month! And let me just tell you.. it's down right thrilling and chilling at the same time. So I suggest you pick it up! (Review will be up soon)

Book 2) Because of Low by Abbi Glines





Now since I had just finished "The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, I needed a super romantic read, as TGOTT was rather depressing.
Anyways, ever since I read the first book in the "Seabreeze" series by Abbi Glines, its been a little addicting. I mean come on, they're basically like candy. I just finished reading "Because of Low" and gosh it was fantastic!

Book 3) The Alchemists of Loom by Elise Kova



I'm a mega fan of Elise's novels! Her Air Awakens series is beyond mind-blowing, and her world building skills are killer. AoL is her first "adult fantasy" novel, and I'm super excited to dive into it! Reviews for her novel are already starting to pop up around Goodreads. Here's a little quick shoutout to my wonderful book reviewing/blogg friends @madforbooksluv and @novelstosong will be buddy reading "The Alchemists of Loom" with me. Book 4) Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman



The second book in the Illumane series is coming out in less than a week from now, and I've only heard fantastic things about this series. Sadly I haven't read the first novel yet, and since it's super close to the release date of the second novel, it would be a perfect time to dive into the series. My bookclub @YADiversity is actually reading the sequel for the month of November, so if you'd like to Gemina for the first time, then please join in on the reading fun!







Book 5) A Madness so Discreet by Mindy McGinnis







So I've heard that A Madness so Discreet is a "beautifully-twisted  historical thriller". Now who wouldn't want to read that, especially in the month of October? I am super intrigued his novel, and I cannot wait to dive into the thrilling darkness that it has to offer.


So that was all for my Spooktober 2016 TBR. I had a few more novels on my TBR Pile for this month, but lets be real; balancing school and life, it's hard to read loads of books every month.

January 2016 TBR

Hello Book Lovers! How are you this new year? Do you have any NYR? I have several and a couple of them are spending more time on my blog writing reviews and interviewing authors, reading 100 books or more. ( And Hopefully Review Them!!) I want to read and finish the Harry Potter series. I want to spend less on books and read more books.
Last year I just ended up spending way too much on books, not that I don't mind buying books. But I need to be saving and doing less spending.
There are some novels that have been on my book shelves for over 3 years... I really just need to start reading the books on my shelves first. And just being able to interact with authors and book lovers out there!
I have a lot more NYR but, those are just some of them.

What are some of your New Years Resolutions?

Anyways here's my January TBR for 2016. I decided that I'm not going to have anything set in stone about my TBR for the next couple of months. I'm just going to choose several random books on my shelves that I've been staring at for what feels like forever and read them. Plus have some review copies in there! Last year I just felt too stressed from having to pick and choose selected books for the month. Especially when it came to review copies. I want to enjoy my read.. not feel pressured. So that's what i'm going to try and work on for a couple of months and see if I like it or not.

So here are some of the books I'd like to read for the month of January.

Ruin and Rising, The Gifted, Passenger, After The Woods, Shattered Blue, The Curseborn Saga, e.c.t

I'm planning to read most of these books for the months ahead. We'll just see how many I can get to for the month of January!!

December TBR

Hey book lovers! Gosh I am so late on my December TBR it's been killing me! Finally I am putting this up! Anyways lets get right to it! I in total want to read 12 books this month. We all know that this probably won't happen. But I'm always a wishful thinker.


*1 of my December TBR  is to read Instructions for the End of the World by Jamie Kain.

Since it's the middle of December already, I'm actually currently reading this. And I'm enjoying it. Although I'm not really liking the abrupt character perspective changes.


                              2* of my December TBR is The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

I've never seen the movie or read the book. So I decided to not watch the movie first and instead read the novel first. I have always had the desire to watch and read The Road. And I thought what better time would it be than to borrow my friends copy of The Road, relax, and have a nice heaping cup of coffee while reading a dark story.

   3* of my December TBR is The Violinist of Venice by Alyssa Palombo.

I honestly have never heard of this book before. But when I was contacted to review it,and read the synopsis. I thought I'd really find it an enthralling read. We shall see what I think about it once I finish it.

4* of my December TBR is Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo.

For the past several months I've been wanting to get to the final book of the Grisha Trilogy! And thankfully I will be drawing it to a conclusion this month! Since it's the ;last month of 2015, might as well try and read the last book in the Trilogy!

                                   

                                        5* of my December TBR is Avalon by Allison Sipe.

Last month, last book in the series. Anyways it's not really the last book in the series. But since it's the second one that comes after Soothsayer, I just thought it could take place as the last one for now. I'm super excited to read this and see more from the amazing perspective of Robert!


                       

                   6* of my December TBR is Beyond the Shadows by Brent Weeks.

This is also the last and final book in the Night Angel Trilogy.

I really loved and throughly enjoyed the first and second book in the Night Angel Trilogy. And I'm super interested to see what characters are going to take part in the finale. But sadly I'm not entirely sure yet if I will be able to get to this book before the end of the year. It's a very huge.massive,chunky  book.

7* of my December TBR is Truth by Christina Benjamin

I received this book for review. And truth be told I'm super stoked about this novel as well! The entire plot really seems like it's going to be very addicting!!!

8* of my December TBR is The Dreamer by E.J Mellow

I've been wanting to read her books forever! And when I received her novel in the mail.. I was jumping up and down with happiness! Not they I down jump up and down with happiness when I receive other novels! I just wasn't expecting it in the slightest!

                             
                                  *9 of my December TBR is Cress by Marissa Meyer.

The third book in The Lunar Chronicles series! I was hoping to finish the entire series this month. But sadly I don't think I'll get the chance because I have so many other amazing books to review as well!
Although I am super hyped about Cress because I've heard it's one of the best books in the series! Plus I'm just super eager to know what happens next!

Oblivion by Jennifer L Armentrout,Oppression by Jessica Therrien,Shrilugh by Myndi Shafer, and Unfinished Ink by Joanne Marlowe.
Were either apart of by November TBR and got transferred to my December TBR. Or I read them for the beginning of the month of December. Either way I've already read 4 books for the month of December and I'm pretty proud with myself! Some of them were small to medium sized but I'm still pretty proud. From doing homework,moving my house,working my 8 hour job,starting a mini craft business,and from doing all of that I still found time to squeeze some reading in there!

November TBR

Hello Bookaholics! How are you? So for this month I'm hoping to stick to my TBR a little better. Since last month I read only two books from my TBR pile. I've decided that I'm going to try my best to stick to my pile for my November TBR. So in total the quantity of books total up to 14 books! Whoo hoo! That is a lot of books! Let's see if I can read all of them or get close to the amount.
